This is on of my figure study sketches – long pose
, based on Photoport reference( DA). It is done on a heavyweight tagboard with a graphite. I truly believe that figure sketching should be an important part of everyday practice of any type of artist, figurative or not, a landscape artist or or specialized in still life. I realized the importance of it when I got into a big trouble once, trying to compose a complicated painting, without knowing the basic anatomy structure, and since then I try to sketch and draw every day. Most of my sketches are 5, or 20 min short poses and I usually finish with one long pose( hour or two hours long).
